Background and ownership
EE grew from the combination of Orange and T-Mobile UK; it offers consumer mobile, home broadband and mobile WiFi products.
Brand and network ownership can differ. Identify who bills you and which organisation handles your account.
SIM-only plans
Compare EE SIM-only offers by usable data, calls and texts, minimum term and renewal terms. The checkout summary is the source for any live price.
Record whether an introductory price ends and whether an annual change is written into the agreement.
Phone plans and upgrades
If EE offers a handset, read airtime and device payments separately. Before an upgrade, ask what happens to any remaining phone balance.
Ask about trade-in grading, returns and whether the new term starts immediately.
eSIM and replacement
Check eSIM support for the particular EE plan and device. Use the official activation path and stable Wi-Fi.
Never send a QR code or one-time verification code to an independent guidance site.
PAYG and rolling monthly
Check current PAYG pack duration, top-up method and out-of-pack charges separately from contract terms.
Check the pack renewal toggle, credit expiry and charges after an allowance ends.
Coverage and postcode
EE publishes a coverage route. Enter the complete postcode, compare indoor and outdoor estimates and check live network status if service changed suddenly.
Maps predict coverage; walls, terrain, mast load and the phone itself affect real reception.
Data and unlimited use
Review the exact allowance, speed tier, hotspot/tethering terms and any fair-use rule. Unlimited UK data does not necessarily mean unlimited roaming.
Check how the provider alerts you and charges when a limited allowance is exhausted.
Roaming and international
Consult EE’s current country-specific guide before travelling. A call from the UK to another country is not the same as using your SIM abroad.
Check daily passes, incoming calls, fair-use data and out-of-zone fees.
Broadband and connected devices
A home broadband line, a mobile WiFi device and a phone plan are separate services with different coverage and support.
A mobile data hub and fixed home broadband have different availability checks and fault paths.
App and account tasks
The relevant self-service route is EE app. Use the genuine provider app or typed URL for usage, bills and SIM controls where offered.
We cannot view a bill, reset a password, issue a SIM or make an account change.
When a service fails
Start with the provider status page, then test another place, airplane mode, device restart, SIM selection and mobile-data settings.
Keep the time and postcode of failures before opening a provider fault case.
Fees, yearly total and leaving
Add airtime, device payments, extras and any stated annual increases across the whole commitment. Confirm early-exit or remaining device obligations before moving.
Avoid relying on a generic fee quoted for another plan or join date.
Official starting points
Live availability, prices and account decisions belong to EE.
